Our Edinburgh course runs from the beautiful space Calm on Canning Street.

It is run by the Seasonal Yoga team, headed by Marit Akintewe.

Teachers: Marit Akintewe (course leader for Edinburgh and Seasonal Yoga director), Julie Hanson, Sue Woodd, Lucie Potter, Jane Blundell, Claire Davidson, and others.

Marit Akintewe is a founding director of Seasonal Yoga and has been teaching full time since 2004. She is a hugely experienced teacher, with a truly unusual background as a yogi, with long periods of study and practice under Swami Vivekananda and Sahajananda. Marit teaches meditation, pranayama, asana, and philosophy with a passion and understanding which exemplifies the learning and practice she has undertaken. Her students often remark that her ability to make difficult concepts, and ancient teachings, come alive and relevant, changes them forever. A mum of 2, balancing real life demands has given her both the perspective of the seeker (long periods of time in solitude) and the house holder.

Each module Marit shall be joined by another member of the Seasonal Yoga team to give you great exposure to all of the seasonal Yoga directors, and other senior teachers, as well as our ashtanga teacher (Joanne Ewan). It is great to have different perspectives and energies in the room from whom to learn.

Social distancing restriction information – We are continuing our trainings at seasonal yoga at this very challenging time, and this is the same for Edinburgh. We are really happy to say that this is going very well with this years group. We have a comprehensive online learning platform to support us, with all our lectures, postures workshops, seasonal information, home study guides etc all available. Therefore we are currently running a hybrid system with this years group, pre course online study, full weekends live with the possibility of being in the studio if the student wishes, or being with us over zoom if preferred.

We are endeavouring to keep the quality of our courses is as high as ever. If you would like to have a chat about how it all works, please contact us directly – maritakintewe@gmail.com.

Please also note that we are running the Seasonal Yin training, and 100 hour foundation online too until we return to our studio
